Let's talk about veterans burial benefits. Veterans receive the most benefits when they use a Veterans Administration National Cemetery for the interment of a veteran and any eligible dependants. The Veterans Administration provides the grave space, opening and closing of the grave, concrete grave liner, grave marker and perpetual care of the grave space for the veteran and eligible dependants. The links below provide lots of good information.
We will procure the flag that will be draped on the casket and contact the Honors Detail from the veterans branch of service. Military Honors range from a two man flag folding detail up to full Military Honors depending on the veterans service status. You must have the veterans DD-214 or other discharge available to receive benefits. You may request a copy of the veterans discharge by completing a SF-180 Request Pertaining to Military Records.
Funeral home charges must be paid by the family prior to the burial. If the veteran qualifies for any additional benefits we will assist you with the claim form. We can not verify eligibility for benefits. You will need to contact the Veterans Administration if you have eligibility questions that are not answered by the links below.
